Put on your best collar and paint your paw-nails, BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park is gearing up for the canine event of the year to celebrate their new dog play park, the first of its kind for the BIG4 group nationally.

BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park is opening their gates to the local community on Saturday 29 March, welcoming guests of the two and four-legged kind to enjoy a day of doggy themed activities including a sausage sizzle hosted by the RSPCA.

BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park has been a dog friendly holiday park for a number of years and now they have stepped up their offering by opening a fenced dog park. The park was created with the express purpose of providing pampered pooches with room to stretch their legs and chase tennis balls to their hearts’ content while on holiday.

Park owner, Theo Whitmont, has also installed doggy agility equipment including a see-saw, hurdle, weave poles and more.

“We understand dogs are part of many families, so we think pups deserve to holiday in style like the rest of our guests,” said Theo. “Dogs often get left at home when families go out on the weekend so this is a chance to share the fun with them. We’d love to see local families drop in with their pups to grab a snag and test out the play equipment,” Theo added.

In addition to the dog park, BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park is home to an impressive range of family-friendly facilities including a resort style pool with a 1.5 story waterslide and poolside cabanas, spa, giant inflatable screen for outdoor movies, BMX track, tennis court, pedal cars and much more.

Dogs aren’t the only four-legged creatures in the park. A mini cow, two alpacas, chickens, a goat and some delightful ducks call a mini-farm home at BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park. Kids are welcome to pat the animals, feed the park’s chickens and even collect their eggs to be turned into a yummy breakfast at the park’s onsite cafe. The same cafe that will happily serve up a puppycino to canine guests, a warm liver flavoured milk drink for discerning dogs.

An RSPCA adoption officer will be on hand with an adoption pup, teaching guests about the joys rehousing a pooch and the park will supply treats for the furry guess of honour.
